Ebooks from the Kognixr shop come as standard files: EPUB (resizable text, best for phones and e-readers) and, for many books, PDF (fixed pages, best for printing and answer keys). The files are yours to keep and work without an account or special app. After you pay, the download link arrives by email.
Kindle (devices and the Kindle app)
Kindle reads EPUB and PDF through Amazon's free Send to Kindle service. The book then appears in your Kindle library on every device signed in to your Amazon account.
- On a phone: download the EPUB, tap Share and choose the Kindle app.
- On a computer: open Amazon's Send to Kindle web page, sign in and drag the EPUB file onto the page. There is also a free Send to Kindle app for Windows and Mac.
- By email: send the file as an attachment to your personal Kindle address (it ends in @kindle.com). You find it in your Amazon account under Manage Your Content and Devices → Preferences → Personal Document Settings, where you also need to approve the email address you send from.
Use the EPUB for reading on Kindle. Send the PDF too if you want the exact page layout, for example for an answer key.
iPhone, iPad and Mac (Apple Books)
Download the file, tap it in the Files app or in your email and choose Open in Books. On a Mac, double-click the EPUB and it opens in Books. PDFs open in Books or in any PDF app.
Android (Google Play Books)
Open the Google Play Books app, go to your library and choose Upload files, or upload from a computer on the Play Books website. EPUB and PDF both work.
Kobo
Connect your Kobo to a computer with the USB cable and copy the EPUB into the Kobo drive. Disconnect it and the book appears in your library.
tolino
Upload the EPUB or PDF in the tolino webreader in your browser and it syncs to your tolino. You can also copy it to the device by USB.
Windows, Mac and Linux computers
Free readers such as Thorium Reader or Calibre open EPUB files. PDFs open in your browser or any PDF reader.
Printing
Use the PDF to print exercises or answer keys. The printable workbooks (Schreibschrift, handwriting and reading workbooks) come as print-ready PDFs in A4 and US Letter.
